Maybe the very best place outside of Oaxaca to spend a Sunday afternoon. Two for one Sunday cocktails, (think Selva quality) and always ask for the house dish..try the house mezcals..and Ant sauce! Fabulous food and wonderful service, views of the mountains on the terrace... in a beautiful small village ...

Excellent spot to while away an afternoon. Great food, ambiance and service. Worth the short trip. We stopped by a nice little butcher shop - Carniceria San Andres - on the way home and picked up some amazing hand-cut bacon. What more can you ask for?

Great food, and even better cocktails. Ask Pavel for a bartenders choice cocktail and you won't be disappointed

This is a really nice, family owned and run authentic Oaxacan style restaurant, the food is great. But even better than the restaurant is the little bar tucked away across from the main dining area. Pavel the bartender makes amazing cocktails, the mezcal mojitos never disappoint. Bring a small group and he’ll whip you up some great drinks and give you samples of locally sourced mezcal. Thank me later

A must visit! Try the seta tacos (with all the salsas)...so delicious. After dinner I went to their speak easy and met Pavel, the son of the chef, who also is involved in the distillation process for the mezcal that is served at the restaurant. I ordered one cocktail and ended up getting a full orientation to mezcal and it’s many varieties (better than any mezcal tour!) It was a highlight of my trip. Highly recommend.

The menu here doesn't fail. We opted for the a le carte as opposed to the tasting that they offer. Each dish surpassed our expectations. They were beautifully balanced and stood up to the best restaurants in and around Oaxaca, of which we visited many. Highly recommend. The cocktails are 10/10 also. There is an attached cocktail bar which is about to get a rave review too.

Stopped in at Vortice, a mezcaleria nestled inside Luz De Luna, a popular restaurant in Huayapam ... completely unexpected!!! Award winning mezcal master, Pavel Nieto, will blow you away with his signature drinks. A must on your to-do list while in Oaxaca.

Great place to eat. My husband and I went there for breakfast and had a great time! I have several dietary restrictions, and the waiter was very helpful in accommodating food to my needs. I had a wonderful vegetarian toast and my husband had French toast, he truly enjoyed it !
